More than 40 years' experience in sustainable agriculture research

National and regional governments and policy makers, organic farmers and businesses face multiple challenges when it comes to achieving sustainable agriculture: reducing CO2 emissions, cutting pesticide use, preventing soil degradation, and developing animal friendly production methods.

Taking the right steps towards sustainability requires expertise and research. The Louis Bolk Institute provides both, and works at the forefront of sustainable agriculture. This is not surprising, considering that we have more than 40 years' experience in research on organic and sustainable agriculture. Many of our projects are carried out in close collaboration with Wageningen University and Research Centre WUR, the Swiss Research Institute for Organic Agriculture FiBl, and other European research institutions.
